Driving Change for
a Resilient European Future

We unite businesses, government, and international partners to accelerate ESG integration in Albania, aligning the private sector with EU standards and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

WHAT ARE ESG POLITICS?

ESG—Environmental, Social, and Governance—is a framework used to assess a company’s commitment to social responsibility, environmental sustainability, and ethical governance practices.

  • Environmental: This aspect focuses on how a company impacts the planet.

  • Social: The social pillar reflects how a company treats its people and supports the broader community.

  • Governance: This refers to how a company is led and managed.

ESG—Environmental, Social, and Governance—is a framework used to assess a company’s commitment to social responsibility, environmental sustainability, and ethical governance practices.

It helps measure how well a business aligns with regulations and broader societal expectations.

Let’s break down each component:

  • Environmental: This aspect focuses on how a company impacts the planet. It includes factors like carbon emissions,

use of natural resources, and climate-related risks. A company’s sustainability policies—such as efforts to reduce

its environmental footprint—are key indicators in this category.

  • Social: The social pillar reflects how a company treats its people and supports the broader community.

It covers workplace issues like equal pay, diversity and inclusion, employee well-being, and corporate culture.

Community engagement and ethical labor practices also fall under this area.

  • Governance: This refers to how a company is led and managed. It includes leadership structure,

executive compensation, compliance with regulations, and internal accountability.

Governance also considers transparency, shareholder rights, and ethical decision-making.

Companies adopt various ESG practices to meet these standards—like minimizing their environmental impact or fostering a more inclusive workplace. A well-developed ESG strategy can enhance brand reputation,

attract top talent, and appeal to investors who prioritize responsible business practices.

Aligning the agenda with the EU developments on the application of ESGs as the Country progresses with the process of integration in the EU.

To become Albania’s leading institution for ESG integration, nurturing responsible business practices and driving transformative change for society, the economy, and the environment.
